DALLAS, TX (CelebrityAccess) — Country singer Sundance Head is recovering at home after he suffered a gunshot wound while handling a firearm at his home in Texas on Sunday, according to the Associated Press.
Head’s agent, Troy Newman, told the AP that Head was leaning into his vehicle to retrieve a .22 caliber pistol when it fell out of its holster and discharged, leaving Head with a bullet wound in his stock.
Newman said Head was airlifted to an area hospital where he was treated and subsequently released.
Head is best known for winning the the televised talent show The Voice in 2016 and has successfully established himself as a touring artist.
Following his release, Sundance shared a statement on the incident on social media, thanking first responders who helped him during the emergency.
