WASHINGTON D.C. (CelebrityAccess) — The Kennedy Center and CBS announced that the award-winning actor, recording artist, and producer Queen Latifah will be the host of the 47th Annual Kennedy Center Honors.
This year will mark the first time that Queen Latifah will host the awards gala after she was the recipient of the honor in 2023.
As previously announced, recipients to be honored as part of the annual national celebration of achievement in the arts are: acclaimed director and filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola; legendary American rock band the Grateful Dead (Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, the late Phil Lesh, Bobby Weir); blues rock singer-songwriter and guitarist Bonnie Raitt; jazz trumpeter, pianist, and composer Arturo Sandoval; and The Apollo, which will be recognized as an iconic American institution.
The 2024 Kennedy Center Honors will take place on December 22nd, from from 8:30-11:00 p.m., ET/PT on the CBS Television Network and streaming on Paramount+.
The 47th Annual Kennedy Center Honors will be produced by Done+Dusted for a third year, in association with ROK Productions. The event will be executive produced by David Jammy, Elizabeth Kelly and Jack Sussman. The show will be directed by Alex Rudzinski.
