CHICAGO (Hypebot) – Keeping your news and tours dates current across multiple sites and social networking pages can be time consuming drudgery. ArtistData has been working to create a solution and recently the free service took another major step forward with the release of several new features.
ArtistData has also redesigned their website and key interfaces within the ArtistData Dashboard, and are providing Get Started guides for services like Twitter. “Sometimes the value of these services isn’t immediately apparent to artists,” says Artist Data CEO Brenden Mulligan, “but we’ve found that once an artist embraces a service like Twitter, they have a whole new and intriguing way of communicating with their fans.”
In addition to posting news, blogs, and show announcements, ArtistData also posts a reminder message the day of a show about where the artist is playing that night. It updates Facebook Status with the same messages.
ArtistData launched in June 2008 and has been adopted by thousands of signed and unsigned artists, including acts such as Amy Winehouse, Blues Traveler, Colbie Calliet, Jack Johnson, Kottonmouth Kings, The New Pornographers, They Might Be Giants. In addition, hundreds of labels and managers, such as Universal Republic / Motown, use the platform to syndicate artist updates.
