Buenos Aires Halts Permits For EDM Events Following Drug Deaths At Festival

BUENOS AIRES (CelebrityAccess) — The government of Argentina's capital has put a moratorium on new permits for electronic music festivals in the city after five people died of apparent drug overdoses at an EDM event.

According to The Guardian, authorities said that five people died and four more were taken to the hospital in critical condition during the Time Warp festival on 15 April.

Witnesses said that that festival-goers were offered a variety of drugs at the festival, including LSD, MDMA and cocaine.

Buenos Aires mayor Horacio Rodriguez Larreta told The Guardian that the ban would remain in effect until the city approves new laws to prevent drug abuse at such events.
