Rio de Janiero, Brazil (CelebrityAccess) — A bus carrying Chinese basketball journalists was caught in a deadly roadside crossfire while attending the Summer Olympics in Rio.
According to the Chinese language Basketball Magazine, the reporters were traveling from the airport to the Olympic Village when the bus was caught in an exchange of gunfire between local residents.
Six locals were reported to have been killed in the exchange, but none of the reporters on the bus were injured.
The gunfire marks the second criminal incident experienced by Chinese Olympics visitors. Chinese hurdler Shi Dongpeng reported that he was robbed after a man vomited on him in a successful attempt to distract him while another individual stole his luggage, according to a report by the International Sports Press Association. – Staff Writers
