(CelebrityAccess News Service) – Canadian Music Week's Xtreme Band Slam, a competition that pits the best regional talent from across Canada, is opening the competition to new, unsigned acts, to compete in more than $50,000 in prizes. Final contestants will compete in the Xtreme Band Slam National Playdown on Saturday, March 6 during Canadian Music Week (CMW).

Each regional finalist selected for the Xtreme Band Slam National Playdown will have a maximum of 15 minutes to perform two original songs before a panel of music industry judges’ and an audience. National judging panels will be announced at a later date.
The winner of the Xtreme Band Slam competition will receive approximately $50,000 in prizes, including:
