LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — As the Staples Center prepares for the start of their thirteenth season, AEG has announced the promotion of 5 new execs at the venue.
Ignacio Guerra, who joined AEG in 2002 has been promoted from Sr. Director of Parking to Vice President of Parking Operations. Since Guerra started as the Staples Center Manager of parking, his role has continued to expand along with the footprint of the venue in downtown L.A.
Joe Herrera has been promoted to Sr. Director, Human Resources. Herrera, who joined AEG in 2005 as Director, Human Resources and took on the oversight of all Human Resource functions for Staples Center, Nokia Theatre and L.A. Live in 2007, will continue to oversee the day to day administration of staffing at AEG's Los Angeles facilities, including labor relations and contract administration, including contract negotiations.
Cara Vanderhook has been bumped up to the newly-created position of Director of Communications and Social Media for both the Staples Center and Nokia Theatre L.A. Live. Vanderhook's been with AEG since 2004 when she joined the staff of the Staples Center as an intern. Vanderhook's expanded duties will include public relations for both venues while continuing to develop social media outreach strategies.
Devon Murray has moved up to Senior Manager, Booking and Special Services at both the Staples Center and L.A. Live. Murray will be handing all production and event logistics for concerts and special events as well as overseeing union stagehands and maintaining Staples center production guide. Murray also started as an intern at the Staples center in 2005 and has served as a Special Event Associate, Event Coordinator, and most recently an Event Manager for the arena.
Wendy Funes has been advanced to the position of Senior Manager, Booking and Special Services for Staples Center and Nokia Theatre L.A. Live. Funes's expanded portfolio includes booking rentals at the Nokia Theatre. Funes has been with AEG since 2002 when she started as a box office assistant.
