George Wein's Festival Productions has prevailed over 10 other concert bidders in securing the Verizon Music Festival to be held in New York (Aug. 8-11), Los Angeles (Sept. 28-Oct. 2) and Tampa (Oct. 24-27). Venues and acts will be announced in early June.
The festival (previously known as the Bell Atlantic Jazz Festival) has been produced in past years by Michael Dorf's Knitmedia, one of the 11 bidders. The festival has been cut both in length and number of cities this year.
