LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — A week after he was admitted to the hospital in the wake of the tumultuous and premature end of his Saint Pablo world tour, rapper Kanye West still wasn’t stable enough leave Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles.
According to the Los Angeles Times, West was initially admitted for dehydration and sleep deprivation, but sources close to the Kanye camp have since told TMZ.com that West has also been grappling with depression and paranoia.
West canceled the 21 remaining dates of his world tour hours after he walked off stage during a show in Oakland on Saturday night. During the performance, Kanye performed just a handful of songs before going on a long rambling diatribe in which he attacked everyone from Jay Z and Beyonce to Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg. He then announced he was ending the show early and left his floating stage, to the obvious dismay of the audience.
While we hope nothing but a speedy recovery from his maladies for Mr. West, his illness may have a silver lining if his tour's insurance included a medical clause. If so, his insurance provider may be on the hook to cover the costs for the remaining shows, which could be substantial, provided West disclosed his pre-existing conditions when he obtained the insurance. – Staff Writers
