KFE Signs Industry Vet Theresa Chambers

New York, (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) – Knitting Factory Entertainment (KFE), the leading authority on live emerging music, today announced the appointment of Theresa Chambers to the role of Senior Talent Buyer for the company’s landmark New York venue. A veteran of the live music industry, Ms. Chambers will direct booking and talent operations across the three stages of Knitting Factory’s Tribeca location as well as contribute to the expansion of KFE’s regional booking opportunities.

"Theresa’s leadership role at the Knitting Factory will be a real asset to us as we enter our 20th Anniversary," said Jared Hoffman, President and CEO of KFE. "Theresa is a respected professional who has built a formidable career on her ability to seek out and develop the kind of breakout artists that have made the Knitting Factory the premier live music venue for emerging talent."

For more than twenty-five years, Ms. Chambers has established herself as one of America's premier music booking agents. She has been associated with many of the landmark clubs that have earned New York its reputation as the world's preeminent rock and roll destination including The World, The China Club, Studio 54, Drums, The Palladium, The Mercury Lounge and The Bowery Ballroom. Ms. Chambers was the first booker to bring acts such as Sinead O'Connor, The Sugarcubes and Jesus & Mary Chain to the United States. She has managed notable foreign bands such as Dreams Come True, Hothouse Flowers and Something Happens.

"As both a music fan and a professional in this industry, I’ve always admired the Knitting Factory for its support and commitment to up and coming artists," said Ms. Chambers. "KFE is cementing its legacy as the premier venue for the best emerging acts as well as established bands, and I’m looking forward to working with the team to ensure that the next 20 years are as legendary as the first."

The appointment of Ms. Chambers follows recent strategic hire announcements made by KFE including the announcement of Jeff Fryer as Label Relations and Content Development Manager and Mark Dinerstein as Senior Talent Buyer for Knitting Factory Hollywood. Mr. Fryer was previously a coordinator for EMI Music Publishing, and Mr. Dinerstein formerly served as Agent and Sponsorship Director for Entourage Talent Associates, both in New York City. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers/pr
