GRONINGEN, DE (VIP NEWS) — The forty year old jazz café De Spieghel in Groningen is bankrupt.
For industry people attending the yearly conference Eurosonic/Noorderslaag in Groningen, the venue is well known.
"There are not enough visitors, and the cost does is the same, it`s a simple equation , "says manager Hubert Nauta.
According to him, the bankruptcy has several causes: " The smoking ban, but there is also less demand for live music. If people regret that De Spieghel is closing , they should ask themselves why they have not been there so long , "Nauta said .
Its not yet known whether the Venue will continue with a new owner.
