MIAMI (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Live Nation is said to be in negotiations to take over yet another venue, Miami's Bayfront Park Amphitheatre.
According to Miami Today, the promoter has been working to hammer out a deal with the city's Park Trust. The details of the deal have been sparse thus far but Live Nation is reportedly offering the city $650,000 a year along with shouldering the burden of costs for improvements to the facility in exchange for all operating revenues.
The upgrades under consideration include a rooftop lounge, a restaurant, a new roof over the stage and other upgrades.
The shed has been managed by the Park Trust since 1987. "we do shows and we make money" at the amphitheatre," Tim Schmand executive director of the Bayfront Park Management Trust told Miami Today "This would be the next step toward a sophisticated corporate operation."
Schmand added "Live Nation, has access to artists and touring operations that we, as the trust, don't have, so we think it will be a good thing for downtown."
Live Nation also operates the Jackie Gleason Theatre in Miami, under the Fillmore flag. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
