Miranda Lambert Tops List Of CMA Noms

NASHVILLE – Miranda Lambert tops the list of nominees for The 48th Annual CMA Awards with nine nominations, including picks for Entertainer of the Year, Single of the Year and Album of the Year.

Dierks Bentley received five nominations. Eric Church and Keith Urban collected four noms each, and Luke Bryan, Kacey Musgraves, Blake Shelton, and Carrie Underwood each received three nominations for the awards show this year.

CMA industry voters also gave their support to Country Music Hall of Fame members Vince Gill, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, and George Strait, the reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year.

Lambert's nine nominations this year ties the record she set in 2010 for the most CMA Award nominations received by a female artist at the and come close to challenging the boys. As for the boys, only Allan Jackson, with 10 nominations in 2002 and Merle Haggard, back in the dark days of 1970 with nine noms stand out higher on the list than Lambert.

The 48th Annual CMA Awards will be hosted for the seventh time by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood and broadcast live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Wednesday, Nov. 5. on ABC.
