Monkeys Win Big At NME Awards

LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Arctic Monkeys had a big night at the NME Music Awards held on February 28th, netting awards for the best British band, best track and best video, Reuters has reported.

Acclaim for the Monkeys is becoming a recurring theme at the award shows and this is the third year running that the band has netted awards at the event.

Other winners of the night included the Klaxons who won best album for "Myths of the Near Future," The Killers grabbed Best International Band, Muse netted a prize for Best Live Band and winsome Kate Nash scooped the award for Best Solo Artist.

The Enemy got picked for best new band, troubled Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty was named Hero of the Year for some reason and the and Aussie singer Kylie Minogue got named sexiest woman.

Even Amy Winehouse, fresh off her big Grammy night managed to garner a plaudit and the singer took home a prize for Worst Dressed. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
