NEW JERSEY (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — At its recent annual meeting, the National Association of Recording Merchandisers (NARM) announced the Board officers and new members of the 2006-2007 Board term.
Sue Peterson, Target Stores, was elected as chairman; Scott Wilson, Handleman Company, vice chairman; Bob Schneider, Anderson Merchandisers, treasurer; and Rachelle Friedman, J&R Music World, secretary.
New Board members are: Gary Arnold, Best Buy Enterprise; Mike Fratt, Homer's; Leigh Ann Moore, Circuit City; and Rob Perkins, Value Music Concepts. Arnold is senior vice president of Entertainment for Best Buy. Prior to Best Buy, he was at Disney's Hollywood Records, and held long stints in music retail at both Trans World Entertainment and Disc Records; Fratt hosts his own radio show every Sunday, where he programs three hours of triple-A, singer-songwriter, Americana, Indie and deep Classic Rock; Moore is a 14-year Circuit City veteran and now serves as merchandising manager for Music and Movies. Prior to joining Circuit City, she held various positions at the May Company and Office America; Perkins is CEO of Value Music Concepts, a company he founded in 1993. He enter the industry in 1986 and held high level positions at Turtles and Super Club Music Corporation. Perkins serves on NARM's Retailers Advisory Council.
