The long delayed $30 million White River Amphitheater in Auburn, WA is due to open in June after clearing its final regulatory hurdle–the issuance of a highway access permit. The venue was started in 1996 but halted by court order in 1998 due to an environmental impact review. Late last year, the Army
Corps of Engineers granted the Muckleshhot Indian Tribe a construction permit for the amphitheater.
The tribe plans to offer 30 to 40 concerts during the summer season, primarily on weekend evenings. Plans call for a capacity of 20,000, including 10,000 reserved covered seats.
Clear Channel Entertainment is the venue operator.
