LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Live Nation has announced that Jason Garner has been promoted to the newly-created position of Chief Executive Officer, Global Music. In his new post, Garner will oversee the promoter's live music business worldwide.
The promotion takes place immediately and Garner will continue to report directly to Michael Rapino. Alan Ridegway will continue in his roll as Chief Executive Officer, International Music and report to Garner.
Garner got his start in the music industry by booking bands at a San Jose flea market while he was still attending high school and eventually becoming one of the top Spanish language promoters in Northern California. He signed on with Live Nation's predecessors in 2003 as the firm's lead booker for the Latin division, Vivelo. Since then he has served as the company's General Manager of the Latin division and then went on to oversee Live Nation's North American Touring Division and the following year its North American Amphitheatre programming. Mr. Garner most recently served as President, North American Music.
