INDONESIA (CelebrityAccess) Indonesian pop band Seventeen was performing at an event on the shore of Tanjung Lesung beach in Indonesia when a tidal wave hit the stage last night, resulting in the death of the band’s bassist and road manager, while other members are currently missing.

The band has confirmed the death of M. Awal Purbani, also known as Bani, and road manager Oki Wijawa, according to the Jakarta Post while four others – guitarist Herman Sikumbang, drummer Andi Windu Darnawan, crewmember Ujang and Dylan Sahara, wife of the singer Riefian Fajarsyah, remain missing, according to the paper.

The event was sponsored by the state electric company PLN when the tsunami hit around 9:30 p.m. Fajarsyah has posted a video confirming his wife has not been found and that several band members are missing. The bandmembers have been evacuated to nearby clinics and a search and rescue team has been deployed to the area, according to a statement. Frontman Ifan uploaded a video confirming that his wife is missing plus several band members and asked for prayers from his followers.

The Indonesian government said the tsunami has claimed 222 lives at press time, injured hundreds and left others unaccounted for. Scientists say the tidal way may be the result of the eruption of Anak Krakatau and subsequent underwater landslides.
