Baltimore Concert Fan Files Suit For Trampling

BALTIMORE, MD (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A Morgan State University concert-goer has filed a lawsuit against rapper Lil’ Wayne, Universal Records, Cash Money Records and Young Money Touring Inc., alleging that she was knocked to the ground and trampled at a concert last year.

Tyrique Layne blamed Lil’ Wayne’s concert stunt of tossing a large amount of cash into the crowd for her overnight hospitalization and the injuries she suffered at the October 2006 concert held at the university.

Three women were hurt when the rapper threw a wad of $1, $5, $10 and $20 bills into the crowd, causing a minor stampede during his set.

Lil’ Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter, is already in court over a weapons arrest in Manhattan last month. His attorney, Stacey Richman, has complained that police are directly targeting hip-hop celebrities.

Layne, who was a 17-year-old freshman at the time, is seeking $1 million plus interest and costs, and has been suffering frequent and severe headaches, neck and back pain, memory loss, difficulty concentrating, fatigue and other symptoms as a result of her injuries. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
