NASHVILLE, TN (CelebrityAccess) — Christian music newcomer Lauren Daigle took top honors at the at the 47th annual Gospel Music Association Dove Awards.
Daigle won awards for Artist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year during the awards show, which were held at Nashville’s Allen Arena on Tuesday night.
“It’s kind of crazy just to see where God will take you in such a short amount of time,” Daigle said. “His glimpse of eternity looks a lot larger than ours, and I’m just honored to be a part of this.”
Jordan Feliz took home the prize for New Artist of the Year and King and Country won a statue for Contemporary Christian Artist of the Year.
“In such a time as this,” said For King & Country’s Joel Smallbone, “When you’ve got political division, you’ve got racial tension, you’ve got religious extremism, it feels as though nights like tonight, this time is more important than ever, to rally together and point people heavenward.”
Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) will air the awards show on Sunday, October 16.
