CHICAGO (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Arny Granat of Jam Productions was brought an interesting proposal by his partner. Granat was told that Yusuf Islam, formerly Cat Stevens, was looking to produce a theatrical version of his classic songs in a show called 'Moonshadow.'
"Yusuf was looking for an independent theatrical producer with a background in music, and my photo must have been next to that definition in the dictionary." Granat told CelebrityAccess.
Granat traveled to London to meet with Yusuf, and Yusuf's brother, to discuss 'Moonshadow' coming to fruition with Arny and Jam Productions of Chicago. They were in talks for six weeks finishing up the details of the new show.
Yusuf is currently in Nashville writing new songs to round out the old for the story of ‘Moonshadow.' Yusuf's had trouble in the past obtaining a Visa to travel to America but that is now behind him and he travels freely in the US.
Granat told CelebrityAccess that after the rewrite of 'Moonshadow' Yusuf and Jam Productions, will have a workshop to outline where, when and how to present this long term labor of love which Granat has speculated to take six months to a year to complete.
Presently Granat is reviewing and looking at potential, prospective writers to collaborate with Yusuf to create the final piece.
'Moonshadow' will contain the classic favorites by Yusuf, Cat Stevens, which will contribute to approximately 80% of the story while the rest of the songs will be Yusuf's new creative creations.
