Los Angeles-based Mosiac Music Group has established a music publishing division, naming longtime publishing executive Lionel Conway president of Mosaic Music Publishing. Working closely alongside Mosaic subsidiaries Atlas/Third Rail Management, Third Rail Records and Family Tree Entertainment, Conway will oversee all music publishing activities and will be responsible for acquisition of catalogs and the development and signing of new artists/writers/producers.
Conway has previously signed some of the most influential artists in pop music history including U2, Cat Stevens, Tom Waits, Robert Palmer and Lucinda Williams. "Lionel's reputation within the music industry is second-to-none, and his relationships with artists and labels alike will be a catalyst in attracting new clients and mining new opportunities," stated Allen Shapiro, president of Mosaic Media Group.
Mosaic partner Scott Welch added, "We have always admired his breadth of experience and his ability to recognize new talent, and we are all excited to work with him."
Conway said, "Mosaic is a company with a lot of momentum, some phenomenal artists and a synergy that is already proven successful across its music, film and television divisions. They have given me the resources and the opportunity to do what I do best–sign and develop exciting new talent and build publishing companies. I am very excited about this venture, and am looking forward to becoming a part of this incredible team."
