NASCAR Driver Mike Wallace, Daughter Attacked Following Concert


CHARLOTTE, NC (CelebrityAccess) — NASCAR driver Mike Wallace and his daughter were attacked and beaten by three men as they were leaving a concert in Charlotte on Friday night.

According to ABC affiliate WSOC-TV, the 57-year-old driver and his adult daughter Lindsey Wallace Van Wingerden were leaving a Rascall Flatts concert at the PNC Music Pavilion when they were approached by three men. One of the men asked if he had enjoyed the show and then attacked, punching and kicking Wallace, leaving him unconscious and knocking out three of his teeth he told WSOC-TV.

“The next thing I know, that I remember, is getting punched in the face. When they did hit me, it knocked me out,” Wallace told WSOC.

“I was on the ground, I could feel myself getting beat, but I couldn’t feel the intensity of it,” he said.

ESPN reported that his daughter attempted to intervene and was also attacked.

According to CBS News, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police told local media three men have been arrested in connection with the attack. They did not identify the individuals arrested or comment on a potential motive for the attack. – Staff Writers
