SYDNEY, Australia (CelebrityAccess) — American rapper Tyler, the Creator has canceled his upcoming tour of Australia in the face of a large public campaign by a group of feminist activists that saw the group's director receiving threats from Tyler's fans.
Tyler announced on Monday that he would be canceling the tour due to pressure from the grassroots group Collective Shout.
"We would much rather come to Australia when it isn't surrounded in controversy," Tyler said in a statement. "I love my fans there and hopefully I'll be back soon. Don't do drugs."
This isn't the first time Tyler has clashed with the group. They sought to have his visa for his 2013 tour denied as well. During that tour, Tyler singled out Collective Shout's leader during his Sydney show, calling her a "f**king whore" and "c**t" while on stage. – Staff Writers
