Vance Joy Wins The ARIA Award For Best Male Artist And Announces Tour

MELBOURNE (CelebrityAccess) — Vance Joy has topped 2015, with a hotly contested win at last night’s ARIA Awards in the category of Best Male Artist. The Melbourne musician also had the honor of opening the ceremony with his platinum hit ‘Fire and the Flood’.

Vance Joy’s debut platinum album Dream Your Life Away, has resonated with fans worldwide. In Australia, the album has not dropped out of the ARIA Top 100 since release. In the US, the album has sold over 250,000 copies in a market notoriously difficult to crack.

The success of Dream Your Life Away has been propelled by the popularity of singles ‘Mess Is Mine’ (gold), ‘Georgia’ (platinum), ‘Riptide’ (5x platinum + the current record holder for the longest standing single in the Top 100 of the ARIA Singles Chart) and current hit ‘Fire and the Flood’. The latter has been a main stayer of the national airplay chart and is approaching double platinum status. In the US, ‘Riptide’ is 2x platinum, hovering on 2 million sales, ‘Mess Is Mine’ has sold over 200,000 copies and ‘Fire and the Flood’ is gaining momentum at Alternative and Triple A radio at the moment, steadily edging up the charts each week.

Vance Joy announced a homecoming Australian tour for April next year – the Fire and the Flood Tour – with three shows confirmed for the east coast. The US leg of the tour is heading toward a sell-out, with multiple shows in several cities, and his last Australian tour also sold out.

The musician performed the first of six Australian concerts with Taylor Swift. Swift’s 1989 World Tour has seen him perform over 70 shows at stadiums throughout Canada, the US, the UK and Europe so far. The local concerts are the perfect way to round out yet another wonderful year for Vance Joy.

Vance Joy’s Headline Tour is presented by Frontier Touring and Nova FM with special guests Holy Holy.
