LAFOURCHE PARISH, La. (CelebrityAccess) — One person was killed and two others hospitalized after lightning struck a campsite at a Louisiana music festival on Friday.
According to a report by Lafourche Parish Sheriff's officials, the three women were sheltering in a tent on the T-Bois Blues Festival grounds during a thunderstorm on Friday night when the lightning struck.
Jacqui Stavis (age 28) of New Orleans was pronounced dead at a local hospital on Saturday. The two other women (ages 30 and 24), also of New Orleans, were also injured in the incident, the Sheriff’s office said.
The 24-year-old victim was transported to University Medical Center in New Orleans while the 30-year-old victim remained at a local hospital. A large Labrador, which was with the women, also died in the incident. – Staff Writers
