AEG Finds Naming Rights Partner For New Stockholm Arena

STOCKHOLM, Sweden (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — AEG has signed a naming-rights deal with European telecom provider Tele2, over the yet-under-construction arena in Stockholm. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Due to open in July 2013, The 30,000 capacity Tele2 Arena will play host to major touring international artists as well as two major soccer teams – Hammarby and Djurgården. The Tele2 Arena will complement existing facilities in the market, including Ericsson Globe, Hovet and Annexet. In addition, the Tele2 Arena will also be a venue for other sports, including ice hockey and serve as the national arena for speedway and Stockholm Motor Weekend.

Tele2 is one of Europe's leading telecommunications providers, with 34 million customers in 11 countries, including Sweden, which has one of the most advanced infrastructures among developed nations.

"This exciting partnership will enable us to bring a great deal of joy to many customers and staff right across the country, bringing an entertainment experience to Stockholm that we are very proud of. We’re going to take the arena experience to the next level by creating innovative, interesting mobile content for the arena’s visitors," says Thomas Ekman, CEO, Tele2 Sweden. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
