N.D. Promoter Admits Writing Bad Check For Festival

ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) — A North Dakota man who promoted a 2010 country music festival in Aberdeen acknowledged writing a bad check to a company that provided portable toilets at the festival.

The Aberdeen American News reports that an attorney for 51-year-old Michael McClain, of Wheatland, N.D., entered a guilty plea on McClain's behalf to a count of petty theft by insufficient funds check.

Through his company, RTC Productions, McClain organized Country Jamboree USA at old Swisher Field in Aberdeen in 2010.

Prosecutors say McClain, also known as Michael Greene, failed to pay a nearly $7,000 bill from Rotor Rooter Sewer Service of Aberdeen, which provided portable toilets at the festival.

McClain's attorney says restitution on the bill has been made.

A phone number for McClain could not immediately be located.
