The Ritz Opening Delayed Again

RALEIGH, North Carolina (CelebrityAccess) — Construction delays have derailed the re-opening plans of The Ritz, Live Nation's new 2,000-capacity music venue and the promoter was forced to cancel a number of concerts.

The Ritz had been slated to open Wednesday with a show by southern rockers The Marshall Tucker Band, which has been canceled. A Friday show by Latino band Los Huracanes del Norte has also gone by the boards, while a show scheduled for next Thursday with rapper G-Eazy has been moved to nearby Meymandi Hall.

The venue is now set to debut on January 31st with a reggae show by Rebelution.

This isn't the first delay for the opening of The Ritz. The initial opening had been planned for November 15th, but was also pushed back due to construction delays.

“It’s basically just the normal construction delays that happen in these projects,” Jim Yeager, spokesman for Live Nation/House of Blues told the Raleigh News-Observer. – Staff Writers
