There have been some unusual tour sponsors over the years, but perhaps we have found the most intriguing: Viagra is sponsoring Earth, Wind & Fire's 30th anniversary, "The Cool Blue September Tour," with Rufus featuring Chaka Khan. Manufactured by Pfizer, Viagra will have a Pfizer booth set up at all concerts.
The reason behind the sponsorship is for "a relationship that was spawned to launch a health care initiative primarily geared towards men."
"There is no way that we'd be able to do what we do on stage night after night for 30 years if we didn't take good care of ourselves," said the band's co-leader Philip Bailey. "Verdine [White], Ralph [Johnson] and I all turned 50 this year, so maintaining our health is of primary concern, But not enough people out there, especially men, see their doctors for regular checkups. Basically our message to our fans is to please take care of themselves."
