LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The nominations for the UK’s Nationwide Mercury music prize were announced this morning at a small ceremony hosted by Jools Holland.
The 12 albums battling for one of the most respected British were chosen by a panel of judges, headed by Simon Frith. The overall winner will be announced on September 5th.
The nominees are:

Zoe Rahman – Melting Pot
Lou Rhodes – Beloved One
Scritti Politti – White Bread Black Beer
Sway – This Is My Demo
Thom York – The Eraser
